and there was a major setback for speaker mike johnson.te passed budget bill yesterday that would advance president trump's legislative agenda. it comes as several conservative fiscal hawks argue that the senate's budget blueprint would add too much to the nation's debt. speaker johnson, who met with some of those holdouts yesterday, said he'll try to bring the budget resolution to the floor again later today. that's not really sure. it's not really clear that the contours of this have changed all that much. joining us now, democratic congressman morgan mcgarvey of kentucky. let's just first start with this budget battle, because you're on the budget committee. what did you think yesterday when this was heading to the floor? there were a lot of questions about if the rule would pass, which for viewers who aren't congress nerds like us just is the hurdle you have to jump over to actually vote on the substance of the bill. and yet this vote then never came up. >> yeah. i mean, it's. >> pretty clear that they. >> didn't have the votes once we
